Maynard A. Garber VERONA Maynard Aubrey Garber, 78, of 102 Skyview Circle, Apt. No. 10, died at 8:30 a m. Sunday (Sept. 13, 1998) at his residence. He was born Feb. 23, 1920, at Augusta County, a son of the Rev. John C. and Estella (Houff) Garber. He was a 1939 graduate of Beverley Manor High School and attended Bridgewater College. He was a furniture sales representative for Augusta Furniture Company before retiring. He was a member of Staunton Church of the Brethren. Prior to his declining health, he was very active with the senior adult group of the church and the Staunton Choral Society. He also served as volunteer at the King's Daughters' Hospital. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Violet (Ashby) Garber, who he married on Oct. 8, 1949; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie G. and Ernie R. Landes of Verona; a brother, the Rev. Merlin E. Garber of Salem; a sister, Elva G.; Huffman of Harrisonburg; and two grandchildren, Jason T. of Richmond and Heather E. Landes of Verona. He was preceded in death by a brother, Casper Garber.
