Russell and a friend opened the driver's side door to Ms. Russell's car and found a black male, Edward H.

Lucille (Phillips) Weeks, 66, wife of William H. Weeks, of 365 Mary Gray Lane, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 12. 1998) in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.

She was born on June 1, 1932, in Willis, a daughter of the late Mont and Cora (Quesenberry) Phillips. Prior to retiring in 1996, Mrs. Weeks was employed by Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Fish-ersville Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Wayne Lisa (Paris) Weeks of Waynes- boro and David Neil Janice (Harvey) Weeks of Grottoes; four sisters, Violetta Quesenberry and Mae Spicer, both of Dugspur, Ila Thomas of Roanoke, and Alma Ratliff of Floyd; four grandchildren.

Heather Weeks and Lexi Weeks, both of Waynesboro, Travis Weeks and Nathan Weeks, both of Grottoes; and a great grandson, Matthew Weeks of Waynesboro. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clinton, Rexie, and Cecil Phillips and a sister, Connie Ousley. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 15, 1998) in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bruce A.

A storage building was set afire and received about $250 damage, according to police. Counterfeit money STAUNTON Staunton police are investigating two cases where counterfeit money was used at Wal-Mart and want local businesses to be on the lookout for the money. The first incident occurred Thursday night. Someone used six counterfeit $20 bills with the serial number L79917124E to purchase items at Wal-Mart, police said.

Police said the second incident occurred Saturday afternoon or evening and someone used a counterfeit $100 bill to make a purchase. The money was found at the end of the shift. Police said that if money feels suspicious, crisp and brand new, vendors should take a look at the serial numbers, especially if there are multiple bills. Drug arrests GOSHEN The Rockbridge Regional Drug Task Force served warrants on a number of people Thursday as a result of an investigation into narcotics distribution in the Goshen area. Police said the task force began an investigation in May.

The investigation was concluded Tuesday when a Rockbridge County Circuit Court grand jury returned 59 drug-related indictments against 16 people. On Thursday, the task force, assisted by the Virginia State Police tactical team and canine handlersserved the 59 indictments along with seven search warrants on Goshen area resi and Ranson Street, police sai(L" Police estimated Ms. Oscar's 1978 Mercurysta-tion wagon at $1,500 and damage to Ms. Johnson's 1985 Cheyy station wagon at $1,000. five sisters.

on Tuesday at Hilde-brand Mennonite Church by the Rev. Rader Ogden, with burial at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig, Arden Chris, Kenny and Stuart Harner, Kevin Jarvis and Ronnie Denny. 10, died at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 13, 1998) at his residence. A memorial service is tentatively set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Staunton Church of the Brethren.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Ernie and Debbie Landes, Baldrock Road, Rt. 2, Box 30, Verona. Henry Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Sharon L. Herbert BUENA VISTA Sharon Lee Herbert, 56, of Buena Vista, died on Sept.

7, 1998. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Billy R. Griffin.

Fisher, both of Box 1 93, Verona, were married on Aug. 24 dences. As a result of the operation, an addidional six warrants were obtained on three people, police said. Evidence was also collected on the search warrants which task force personnel anticipate will result in obtaining 10 additional drug-related charges. During the arrest the task force was assisted with additional support from several other regional police agencies, including the Augusta County Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police's Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Foster STAUNTON Ida (Nixon) Foster, 79, of 140 Imperial Drive, died at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 13, 1998) at Augusta Medical Center. She was born on May 25, 1919 at New York City, a daughter of Gouverneur and. Edith (Houghton) Nixon.

She was educated at Pine Manor College and was a graduate of Adelphi University. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She was married to Dwight E. Foster II and lived most of her life in Bridgehamp-ton, N.Y. He preceded her in death in 1974 and she was also preceded in death by a sister, Harriet E.

Nixon. Surviving are two sons, Dwight E. Ill of Staunton and Peter N. Foster of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Deanna Martin, George Moleff, Chris Foster, Peter J. Foster, D.

Elliott Foster IV and Austin Foster; three great-grandchildren Gared, Cameron and Katelyn Martin; and a brother, G.H. Nixon of Louisville, Ky. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 1 a.m. on Wednesday at Third Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jack B.

1, Box 19, died I on Sunday morning (Sept. 13, 1998) at Augusta Medical Center. He was born on March 27, 1910 at Augusta County, a son of Phillip H. and Maymie (Weaver) Harner. He was a member of Hilde-brand Mennonite Church, where he was Sunday school superintendent for many years, and was a gardner.

He was a self-employed excavating contractor.
