SHORT RIBS OF RIB um stuac the Beta Omicron chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha recently held a dinner meeting at the home of Mrs. Robert Carper at 1511 Churchville Ave.

After the meal, the business meeting was held. During the meeting, conducted by Mrs Forrest Harris, president, a "love from Mrs. Boyd Moneymaker, state president, was read. Other communications eluded a notice of the Blue Ridge District Council meeting to be held on June 20 at the White Hill Church of the Brethren and hosted by the Alpha Iota chapter. Members were reminded that a leadership conference will be held on Sept.

7 in Petersburg, and the fall board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 19. The spring board meeting will be held on April 5 in Roanoke, and the 1975 ESA convention is scheduled for May 30 June 1 in Roanoke. A meeting of committee chairmen will be held at 7 p.m. on June 24 at the home of Mrs.

Harris. The scrapbook, year book, education, welfare, awards and rushing chairmen for 1973-74 also are to attend. On Aug. 5 there will be a board meeting open to all members to discuss plans for the coming year. Beginning in September, Mrs.

Harris will conduct a worship at each meeting. The September workshop will be on by-laws. Mrs. Roy Cason, social chairman, distributed the menu for the booth to be at the Happy Birthday USA celebration. The welfare chairman.

Mrs. Houser, reported on nours contributed during the month of May for Amity Club. She also noted there will be a farm trip sponsored by the welfare department on July 2 for 20 children. The members were asked to make cupcakes for this event and the chapter will give a contribtion toward the expense of other food to be provided by the welfare department. Mrs.

George Mays distributed a list of items needed for the food sale to be held on June 22 at Greenville. This will be for the benefit of the Chapel Fund at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center. The Blue Ridge District Council by-laws were discussed and it was decided that delegates would vote as they saw fit. Members were asked what items they would like to contribute to the SERC conference to be held in November. The educational program on the Zodiac signs of Cancer and Leo was given by Mrs.

Don Houser, Mrs. Thomas Harlow, and Mrs. David Ralston. Mrs. Houser gave the dynamic aspects of each sign.

For the Cancer sign, she stated that the person was very imaginative and very talkative. For Leo, the person was very demanding and exciting. Mrs. Harlow and Mrs. Ralston read the attractive aspects of each sign.

Miss Warren crowned Miss Black Virginia RICHMOND (AP)-Pat-ricia Maureen Warren of Norfolk, a 23-year-old graduate of Norfolk State College, has been crowned Miss Black Virginia and will represent the state in the Miss Black America Pageant in Indianapolis next month.

She was Miss Black Tidewater in the state pageant Saturday night. First runner-up was Carolyn Jonay Spriggs of Chesapeake, 22, Miss Norfolk State College, and second runner-up was Debra Jean Gabriel, 19, Miss Black Bedford. Tracy Wenger recently entertained members of WHO (We Help Others) Club in their home at 1403 Armstrong Ave. The meeting was conducted by William Lynn, president, with prayer and devotions led by Mrs. Mary Lynn. During the business session, members decided to make a donation to Weekday Religious Education as the club's project for the month. After the meeting, refreshments were served to 14 members.
