obituaries- MRS. HAROLD E. STRICKLER MT. SIDNEY Mrs. Mable Ruth Strickler, 64, of Mt.

Sidney, died 5:27 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 7, 1982) at King's Daughters' Hospital, where she had been a patient since Friday. She was born March 3, 1918 in Albemarle County, daughter of Samuel G. and Lola R.

(Cox) Black. Mrs. Strickler was a graduate of New Hope High School and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. On Oct. 4, 1952 she married Harold E.

Strickler. Surviving besdies her husband is one brother, Hunter F. Black of Fort Defiance. A service was to be conducted 2 p.m. today at New Hope United Methodist Church by the Revs.

SENSABAUGH MIDDLEBROOK Mrs. Marydell Alice Sensabaugh, 78, wife of David W. Sensabaugh of Rt. 2, Middlebrook, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday (Dec.

8, 1982) in King's Daughters' Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 19, 1904 in Augusta County, a daughter of J.R. and Blonde (Lucas) Sensabaugh. She and Sensabaugh were married on Nov. 26, 1925, and recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Sensabaugh was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a life member of Lutheran Church Women. In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Gene C. of Middlebrook and David W. Sensabaugh Jr.

of Staunton; a sister, Mrs. Donald Harris of Rt. 1, Raphine; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, David H. Sensabaugh, and a sister, Mrs.

Dorothy S. Taylor. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Redeemer Lutheran Church by the Revs. Harold F.

Fuller Jr and Edward Schaack. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melvin H. Sensabaugh, Alfred Simmons, Roy T.

Ora (Arehart) Thompson, 92, formerly of Rt. 1, Greenville, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 8, 19082) at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. George Kopp, 308 Valley View Drive.

Mrs. Thompson was born Nov. 22, 1890 in Augusta County, a daughter of G.B.C. and Sarah (Swisher) Arehart. She was the last remaining member of her family.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Eugene G. (Evelyn) Alexander of Covington, Mrs. J. Clyde (Helen) Montgomery of Raphine, Mrs.

Bertha T. Kerr and Mrs. George P. (Janet) Kopp, both of Staunton, and Mrs. S.

Mack (Ora) Lotts Jr. of Raphine; a foster son, Walter L. Rosen of Raphine; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, Carl V. Thompson, died Jan.

30, 1969. A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Clifford D. Caldwell.

Friday. Pd Ob CHARLES R. PETZKE VERONA Charles Raymond Petzke, 59, of Blue Ridge Apt. 12G, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday (Dec.

7, 1982) in King's Daughters' Hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1923 in Elmira, N.Y., son of Carl W. and Ruth (Germaine) Petzke. Petzke was a U.S.

Army veteran of World War II. He was retired as assistant postmaster of Elmira Post Office, with 31 years of service. He was a member of Verona United Methodist Church and the Verona Ruritan Club. He was past exalted ruler of Elmira No. 67 Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Marjorie E. (Cuyle) Petzke; two daughters, Mrs. Sharon Lubitow of Rochester, N.Y., and Miss Linda Petzke of Verona; one grandchild and several aunts and uncles. A service will be conducted 11 a.m Friday in Verona United Methodist Church by the Rev.

and William Petzke. The family will receive friends tonight at Henry Funeral Home. LYNCH RAY WAYNESBORO Lynch Kersey Ray, 70, of 501 James died Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 8, 1982) in Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born Aug.

29, 1912 in Cambria, son of C.W. and Josie (Kersey) Ray. Ray was a member of Wayne Hills United Methodist Church, a veteran of World War II, serving with the Marine Corps, and attended Roanoke College. He was also a member of Masonic Lee Lodge No. 209.

He retired from the DuPont Co. in 1977 with 36 years of service. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mildred (Coffey) Ray; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Pleasant and Mrs.

Sarah Leech of Waynesboro; one son, Stephen K. Ray of Waynesboro; three grandchildren. A service will be conducted 11 a.m Friday at McDow Funeral Home by the Rev. Mark Burgess. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park.

RAGNAR G. THURESSON WAYNESBORO Ragnar Gustav Thuresson, 62, of 417 Rosser died Wednesday morning (Dec. 8, 1982) at Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1920 in Motala, Sweden, son of David and Eda (Dahl) Thuresson.

Thuresson was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Trout Unlimited. He was a retired engineer with the General Electic with over 30 years service. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. Surviving are his widow, Mrs.

Ann (Lowing) Thuresson; one daughter, Mrs. Steven Payne of Houston, Texas; one brother, Arne Thuresson of Newark, three sisters, Mrs. Robert Lowing of Philadelphia, Mrs. Barbara DeLong of Madison, and Mrs. Gunvor Kimpel of York, a number of nieces and nephews.

A private service will be conducted in Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Louis H. Fracher. The body is at McDow Funeral Home and the family requests there be no visitation or viewing. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Mrs.

Deliah May "Lila" Sprouse, 87, widow of John Franklin Sprouse of Church Street, died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 7, 1982) in King's Daughters' Hospital, where she had been a patient since Nov. 29. She was born May 24, 1895 in Rockbridge County, daughter of Nimrod and Julia Ann (Bibbs) Thompson.

Her husband died on Aug. 6, 1972. Surviving are eight sons, William Darwin Wallace and Harvey all of Craigsville, Floyd Cecil 0. and Lloyd F. all of Staunton, and Darrell V.

Sprouse of Goshen; four daughters, Mrs. Louise Fletcher Reid of Staunton, Mrs. Florence Levon Simmons of Clifton Forge, Mrs. Della Mae Puckett of Craigsville and Mrs. Nellie Deloris Crummette of Verona; 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-great-grandchildren.
