Miss Patricia Nickels Becomes Bride Of Harry Rodgers La Brie GATE CITY - Walnut Street Methodist Church, Gate City, was the scene of the marriage of Miss Patricia Henrietta Nickels Nickels to Mr. Harry Rodgers La- La- Brie Saturday, July 11. The wedding date chosen by the bride was the same as that of her paternal grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Henry Henry Nickels. The double ring ceremony was performed at seven-thirty seven-thirty seven-thirty o'clock in the evening by the Rev. Roy I. Reese and the Rev Ray P. Hargraves. Mrs. Fred McConnell, organ ist, played traditional nuptial music. The bride, a granddaughter of Mrs. M. C. Miller and the late Mr. Miller, is the daughter of Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Trammel!, 607 Winthrop St., Staunton, and the late Mr. Patrick Henry: Nickels Jr.; the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Virgie Rodgers LaBne, Mint Spring. Given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Edward E. Nickels Sr.. the bride wore a slim sheath floor length gown ot pure white linen banded with maderia lace. The long slender sleeves of the abbreviated jack et wore tapered at the wrists The slender skirt was comple mented by a lace inserted slit chapel train, which fell from the waistline, sne wore a tiny pillbox hat, to which was secur ed a three-tier three-tier three-tier veil of illusion. She carried a cascade bouquet of stephanotis, white roses and lily of the vaney, entwined witn English ivy. Mrs. Gordan Batson, Fishers ville. was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were miss Nancy Nickels, Gate Citv, i cousin of the bride, Miss Patrl cia Brown. Kingsport, Tenn., and Mrs. Thayer Smith, Charlotte. Charlotte. N. C. Acolytes were David Nickels, cousin of the bride, and Ronnie Pendeton. Mr. Ralph Warner, Abingdon served as best man. Ushers were Messrs. William Rodgers, Wavnesboro, cousin of the bride groom, Edward Nickels Jr., cousm of the bride, and Edward Houff, Waynesboro, brother of the bride.. Mrs. Robert Hamilton presided at the guest book. Mrs. Laurie is a graduate ot Robert E. Lee High School and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. For the past year, she has been on the nursing staff at Holston Valley Community Hospital, Kingsport. Mr. LaBne Is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and attended the University of Virginia and Emory and Henry Henry College. He is associated with Consultants and Designers,, Designers,, Inc., Arlington.
